The Land Rover LRX is a Concept car from Land Rover, designed to address the CO2 issue, which was introduced at the North American International Auto Show in January 2008.
Details
Reuters report that the LRX will be the first Land Rover designed to address the CO2 issue, with the proposed power unit being a Hybrid electric vehicle, which will be capable of running on Bio-diesel, and with potential CO2 emissions of 120 G/km.[4]
CAR Magazine state that the car runs on electric power alone up to 20 mph (32 km/h), and that a non-hybrid version is likely to start production in 2010. [2]
TotallyMotor comment that the new concept vehicle was designed by Gerry McGovern, who was also the designer of the Freelander.[1]
